Faranak Shahroozi’s journey into music began long before she could even walk. Gifted with perfect pitch, Faranak was able to play melodies she heard on a toy piano by the age of four. Her Iranian-American heritage and the transition to life in America at 18 deeply influenced her music. Nostalgia for her hometown fueled her creative drive, leading her to pursue a BA in music from San Jose State University. This foundation paved the way for her to start recording and producing her own compositions.
From Toy Piano to Professional Stage
In 1997, Faranak took her initial steps towards a professional music career, beginning with recording her piano pieces. It took a couple of years of dedication before she connected with Andy Butler, a bass player from the San Jose Symphony. Together, they formed a five-piece acoustic band, performing concerts that eventually caught the attention of Preston Glass, the renowned producer for Kenny G.
Passion Behind the Music
For Faranak, music is more than just a career—it’s a source of immense joy and personal fulfillment. The entire process, from recording and arranging to producing and sharing her work, is an exhilarating challenge. The rush she experiences on stage and the satisfaction of seeing fans connect with her music keep her driven and inspired.
Bridging Connections Through Music

Her compositions have become a backdrop for studying, working, driving, and even meditating. This unexpected impact highlights how her music resonates with listeners in diverse and meaningful ways.
Embracing Unique Style
Faranak’s distinctiveness lies in her ability to merge classical training with contemporary melodies. Early in her career, she struggled with wanting to emulate other famous artists. However, success came when she embraced her unique style—creating easy-listening tunes with a classical flair. Her covers of popular songs like Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” and Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” reflect her innovative approach to familiar favorites.
